20 years at Digi: Melanie Nieuwoudt

3 November 2021

Melanie Nieuwoudt, our Organisational Development Manager, celebrates her 20th year at Digi. She shares her exciting journey with us!

What brought you to Digi 20 years ago?

Having just returned from living in London and travelling the world, a friend referred me to Digi (then ForwardSlash). Yes, our referral policy is 20 years old.

I arrived at my interview with Spencer somewhat overdressed as I was wearing a suit!  The energy and dynamic environment – ‘the buzz’ – resonated with me, and that great culture is still with us today.

Tell us about your Digi journey.

I spent my first few years at Digi working as a PA to the CEO, COO and CTO while completing my post graduate degrees. In 2005 I had the opportunity to take on a role as an HRBP in the Human Resources Team. The Organisational Development Team within HR was created in 2014 and today I have the pleasure of leading the Organisational Development and Learning & Development teams. These roles have all taught me a huge amount and I have thoroughly enjoyed each one of them.

Tell us why, 20 years later, you are still working at Digi.

Digi has the ability to reinvent itself to adjust to rapidly changing environments. I love our dynamic environment.
My favourite things about working for Digi: great people, awesome workspaces, opportunities for growth and development, challenges to master, and knowledge to gain.
In my current role I have the privilege of leading talented teams that I have the greatest respect for and learn from every day. I love seeing them grow, develop, and succeed in their careers.
The last 20 years have been an amazing journey. Thank you Digi!
